Adrian Gonzalez ripped 2 homeruns as the North Dallas Fire Ants beat the
Tombstone Huckleberries in 11 innings by a score of 7 to 6.
The game was deadlocked at 6 after nine full innings. North Dallas won the
hard fought contest in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Gonzalez
lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 19th of the season). North Dallas and
Tombstone each finished the afternoon with 9 hits.
Bobby Jenks(5-7) went 3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Mike Thompson
recorded his 2nd save. Fernando Rodney(10-5) absorbed the loss in relief.
He gave up only 1 hit and no walks in 3 innings.
'I've spent a lot of time in the cage and made some adjustments and they've
paid off,' Gonzalez said. 'I just take the same approach up there. I don't
overanalyze it. I go up there, see the ball and try to put a good swing on
it.'
